10 Brand Energy Boosters

As a follow up to the blog post about The Energy Of Your Brand, I wanted to give you some tangible and practical ideas to boost your brand’s energy this year.  In no particular order, here are some strategies for you to try:

1 - AUDIT YOUR ENERGY

Audit your energy over the past month (or start keeping track of your energy for the next month) - what kind of energy are you bringing to your business on a daily basis? What stories are you telling yourself?  Are you believing in your brand or doubting it?

Are you showing up aligned with your own mission?  Are you showing up in a way that matches the brand perception you want to create?

And by the way, the words you ask yourself to check in with your energy should be specific and have everything to do with the Key Brand Words you’ve created for your business.  For example, if Clarity is one of my Key Brand Words for my brand strategy business, then I’d ask myself if I’m showing up with messaging, offers and stories that are clear to my audience?  I’d also ask if I’m solving the challenge of gaining clarity that my audience always has questions around.

2 - CONFIRM YOUR PEOPLE

Your brand is an energetic 2-way street.  Yes, your energy is important, but it’s also important to align with the energy your ideal clients are bringing.  So, first things first…you should re-confirm that your target audience is the right one for your business.  Everything you do to create your brand strategy and position your brand is about who it’s for.  Make sure you’re targeting the right people, so you can use your energy wisely towards them.

3 - CHOOSE POWER WORDS

Power words carry the energy you want to cultivate.  I recommend choosing a new power word per quarter (so that’s 4 for the year), to align with the goals you have each quarter for your brand.  (if you want a new word per month, own that and do it!). These words will be different for each business owner because everyone is energized by different words and their meanings.

You could decide LEADER is a powerful word for you and you choose the energy around showing up as a Leader for the first quarter of this year, while someone else may need to choose WONDER WOMAN to get the high-vibe energy they need to be boosted by the word every time they see it, say it or share it.

The power words you choose should help you show up with the energy you’ve decided you need in order to attract the right clients to your business.

4 -  CREATE AN ENERGY ACTION PLAN

If your energy is low or you’re feeling out of alignment with the energy you want your brand to have, you need an action plan to change your state and raise your energy to get you back in alignment.

Create a list of at least 5 things you can do to raise your energy in any given moment.  Is it turning on the music and dancing it out?  Is it calling a friend?  Is it meditating?  A walk in nature?  Coffee with a view?  Make a list so it’s your go-to energy emergency action plan that you can turn to when you’re feeling low on energy.

5 - CRAFT YOUR BRAND EXPERIENCE

The experience you provide for your clients IS the energy of your brand.  Pretend you are your client, and do an idea storm on the experience you’d like to receive from you… and then implement that for your existing clients.  Think about everything from when they first might enter your world to all the offerings you have for them to partake of to the very VIP experience of working directly with you.  There might be simple, little things you can add to your process and flow that would lift the energy to a new level for your brand.

6 - ASK YOUR AUDIENCE

Because your audience brings half of the energy to your brand, ask your audience on the regular how they’re feeling.  Ask them what challenges are newly coming up and what they most desire to achieve (all related to what you actually provide).  How do you do this?  You can ask ideal clients to jump on a 15-20 minute call with you (no sales, just a simple interview).  You can do polls on social media.  Try a survey with SurveyMonkey and send it to your email list.  Or promote a Live Q&A and have people join so you can both ask questions and get answers right there.  Get creative with it!

7 - DEFINE / REFINE YOUR BRAND STRATEGY

Finally get your brand foundation under you so you have something to guide the direction of your brand energy - know what you stand for, your mission, vision, values, messaging strategy, key brand words and more.  Or, if you’ve already clarified your brand strategy and messaging, take a look and see if it’s time to evolve your business and refine your strategy.  This can be a burst of fresh energy for your brand!

I have 3 ways to work with me 1-on-1 to define, refine or refresh your brand…my Brand Power Hour where you can ask me any burning branding questions you have in a 1-hour clarity call; my Half-Day Brandpolish Intensives where we spend 3 hours focused on the brand strategy updates you need to take your business next level or to launch; and finally, my signature 8-Week Brand Building Program where we develop your brand strategy from scratch and you leave with a Brand Guidebook that will help give you direction for every aspect of the business your growing.

8 - TAKE A BREAK

Sometimes taking a step back from your brand and pulling yourself out of the day to day work can help you gain perspective.  It will also recharge your battery and allow you to re-enter your business with a refreshed energy and excitement that will translate to your audience.

9 - ALIGN W/ YOUR #1 ASK

What is the #1 question you get from your audience?  Have you aligned with the energy they’re feeling behind that question? You can raise their energy by creating a solution to their most frequently asked question(s).  Can you create a freebie around it?  A Live Training? An online challenge?  And e-book?  Give it away for free and then make sure to let them know what the very next step would be after they’ve answered that question, or gotten more clarity around it.

10 - CULTIVATE INSPIRATION

There’s always great energy around getting fresh inspiration and ideas for your business.  Go on a business retreat, a personal development conference, attend networking events in your city or join a co-working space.  Get around others who are like-minded and working on building a brand and growing their business.  Get inspired.  Feed off others’ positive energy.  Find people who are further ahead than you and can give you the pointers you’re looking for.

Let me know which energy-boosting brand strategies you try or which ones you’re excited to try for your brand!
